ITALIA, DOUBLE ISLAND
Presented in 1988, the Italia model marked the start of collaboration with Antonio Citterio, who was then to take over as art director and designer for the entire Collection.
Right from its debut, Italia embraced the aesthetics and technical solutions typical of professional kitchens, bringing their functions and typical methods into the home years before this became a widespread trend.
The characteristic handle, the prevailing use of steel, deeper worktops fitted with large cast iron hobs and double sinks, suspended hoods, and the iconic double-island layout… all part of the Italia persona.
While staying loyal to its original concept, over the years Italia has evolved with the addition of new technical details, better-performing equipment, and more sophisticated finishes –confirming its vocation for maximum functional results.
ITALIA, LIGNUM ET LAPIS, FRAME SYSTEM
The work and socializing tools and functions of the two Italia islands in Vintage stainless steel complement the elegant walls of tall units to the sides, with Lignum et Lapis doors in matt NTF black ash and characteristic original design.
The floor-to-ceiling wood paneling houses, in the center, the Vina refrigerated wine unit to one side.
On the other, an unusual built-in Frame System double door idea opens onto the dining area, where the wood paneling continues and the Madia unit stands out in the wall of tall units, featuring its coplanar opening glass door and interiors in fossil oak.

A space that becomes architecture in the design of a professional kitchen connected to the living area.
Functionality and socializing are closely linked, allowing for easy use of tools and at the same time create welcoming living spaces.

An iconic composition from the Italia project, the double island is the perfect expression of the maximum operational functionality typical of the concept developed by Antonio Citterio since 1988. Over time, the technical ideas, accessories and materials in this solution have evolved: from steel to stone, through to quartzes and granites.
An elegant look for the dining area adjacent to the kitchen thanks to the combination of the light wood used for the table and two Madia units and the black wood paneling of the wall of tall units with Lignum doors of the Frame System featuring a characteristic original design of vertical staves, variable in widths and distances, that enhances the beauty of the wood.
